Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Leave of Absence Specialist to join our team. This role involves handling leave management escalations, providing oversight for leave claims, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The position offers the opportunity to work in our corporate headquarters in Irvine, where you will have exposure to C-level executives and a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

Manage escalations related to leave of absence issues, such as EDD approvals and premature terminations.Provide oversight for leave of absence claim management with support from a third-party administrator.Track and analyze leave of absence data using the internal HRIS system and Excel.Respond to requests from state agencies and insurance companies regarding company plans and state paid disability and leave programs.Deliver excellent customer service by responding to inquiries via phone, email, and mail, and offering guidance on Leave of Absence issues.Support day-to-day outsourced Leave of Absence administration and maintain relationships with departments such as Human Resources, workers' compensation, and corporate counsel.Engage with managers and Human Resources to document reasonable accommodations.Manage the Leave of Absence inbox and respond to inquiries and escalated issues.Audit the leave spreadsheet to ensure compliance and accuracy.Follow up with employees whose leaves are ending to confirm return dates.Attend ongoing education on Leave of Absence topics to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Essential Skills

1+ year of general HR experience.Some knowledge of leave of absences, even if limited to 2 months.Experience with employee relations or benefits is a plus.Basic Excel skills, including sorting and filtering data.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment at our corporate headquarters in Irvine, which offers a modern and spacious office space. The work is 100% on-site with flexible start times between 7 am and 8:30 am, accommodating an 8-hour workday with a choice of a 30-minute or hour-long lunch. The team is small and collaborative, consisting of two people, including the manager.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
