As an HR Generalist II, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, providing HR support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws while fostering positive working relationships across all locations. The HR Generalist II works closely with managers, staff, and the HR team to deliver exceptional services in offboarding, HRIS maintenance, reporting, employee relations, payroll changes, and organizational communications. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS:

Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage post-termination processing, ensuring all final documentation, payroll, and system updates are completed accurately and timely.Oversee the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews, collecting company property, and processing benefit terminations.Process payroll changes and promotions in coordination with Payroll.Maintain and update the company’s HRIS homepage/portal with relevant policies, procedures, benefits, and forms.Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollments, organization-wide training and meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.Build and maintain strong working relationships with administrative staff at all locations.Conduct regular reporting through ADP Workforce Now as directed by management.Support Office Managers and HR leadership in personnel-related matters.Assist other HR team members as needed or as directed by the Chief Administrative Officer.Provide bi-weekly reporting of staffing changes and updates.Participate in cross-training within the HR department to ensure coverage and continuity of services during absences or peak workload periods.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Applicant Tracking Systems, Payroll, Employee Portal and Analytics.Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word and Excel.SHRM Certification a plus.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.Strong attention to detail.Bilingual is a plus.

TIME SHIFT: 

9am-5pm, Monday – Friday (hybrid options after probation is complete)

 

 

SALARY:

$55,000 - $65,000
