Job Title: HR Generalist Location: Houston, TX (77040) Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $70000 - $75000 annually Contractor Work Model: Onsite HR Generalist/Manager Location: Houston, TX (77040) Are you a true HR generalist who thrives on wearing all the hats? Growing residential services company is looking for a hands-on HR professional to join our team as a solo HR manager, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a critical role that supports over 130 employees across six locations in Texas and Oklahoma. Targeting someone who is ready to be the go-to person for everything HR—from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and payroll. What You'll Do: + Be a True Generalist: You'll manage the full employee lifecycle for all our field and office staff. This includes everything from recruiting new technicians to handling off-boarding and everything in between. + Recruit & Onboard: Lead the charge on finding great talent. You'll manage the entire hiring process for roles across all our locations, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every new hire. + Manage Employee Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for all employee and manager questions, resolving issues with a professional and empathetic approach. + Handle HR Operations: Oversee day-to-day HR functions, including payroll processing (moving to Paylocity soon!), managing HRIS records, and ensuring our policies are compliant. While we have an external broker for benefits, you'll be their main point of contact and support new hires and open enrollment. + Drive Culture & Engagement: Help shape company culture and support initiatives that keep our dispersed teams connected and engaged. Who We're Looking For: + An experienced HR professional with a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience. + Industry experience is a must. You have experience in a residential services, pest control, lawn care, or a similar field that deals with a high volume of field employees or technicians. + A compliance expert with a strong understanding of state and federal employment laws, especially for Texas (and ideally Oklahoma). + Someone who is a self-starter. You're comfortable being a one-person HR department and can manage all responsibilities independently. + An on-site collaborator. This role is a vital part of our team, and being in our Houston office five days a week is a requirement.
