HR Generalist
Description We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting employee relations, recruitment processes, compliance, and overall human resources operations. Responsibilities: • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters, including benefits, compensation, and leaves of absence, ensuring prompt resolution of inquiries. • Manage recruitment activities for designated roles, including sourcing, screening, and collaborating with hiring managers to identify required skills and competencies. • Conduct background checks, verify employee eligibility, and oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions. • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, applicants, and supervisors, escalating sensitive issues to the appropriate personnel. • Coordinate closely with Payroll to share critical data and ensure accuracy in employee records. • Track, report, and manage the use of contract-based employees while maintaining compliance with policies. • Assist in designing and delivering employee training programs, tracking compliance with mandatory and optional training requirements. • Support disciplinary actions, investigations, and occupational health and safety initiatives to maintain workplace standards. • Contribute to employee recognition programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing morale, such as newsletters and surveys. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by reviewing and implementing HR policies and practices. Requirements • Proven experience in HR generalist functions, including employee relations and HR administration. • Strong knowledge of benefits administration and onboarding processes. • Familiarity with HRIS systems and ability to manage employee data effectively. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive matters with discretion. • Ability to manage recruitment activities, including full-cycle hiring processes. • Understanding of compliance requirements for employment laws and regulations. • Organizational skills to coordinate training programs and maintain accurate records. • Proficiency in using data to track HR metrics and generate insightful reports.
