Description We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join a dynamic team in Hempstead, New York. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee database management. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct recruitment activities, including sourcing potential candidates through online platforms and other methods.
• Facilitate onboarding processes, including coordinating new employee orientation sessions and ensuring smooth transitions for incoming team members.
• Manage employee database records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
• Assist in administering payroll systems and benefits programs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Support compensation and benefits initiatives, providing relevant information to employees and resolving inquiries.
• Conduct interviews and participate in candidate selection processes to identify individuals with relevant experience.
• Collaborate on mentoring programs to support new team members and enhance their integration into the organization.
• Maintain compliance with HR policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to regulations and best practices.
• Provide administrative support in HR-related tasks, including document preparation and scheduling.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in employee engagement and satisfaction within the organization. Requirements • Proven experience in human resources administration, preferably within a non-profit environment.
• Proficiency in using HRIS payroll systems and other HR-related software.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems and benefits administration processes.
• Familiarity with compensation and benefits structures and policies.
• Skilled in conducting interviews and evaluating candidates effectively.
• Experience in organizing and delivering onboarding and orientation programs.
• Ability to mentor and guide new employees to foster their development.
