HR Generalist

The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting all core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, training, compliance, and health &
safety.
This position plays a key role in fostering positive employee relationships, ensuring
adherence to collective agreements, and maintaining a respectful and productive
unionized workplace.
HR Generalist Key Responsibilities
• Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for both hourly and salaried
positions
• Provide guidance on HR policies, employment legislation, and collective agreement
interpretation
• Act as a point of contact for employee relations matters, supporting fair and
consistent resolution of issues
• Assist with grievance handling, disciplinary procedures, and union interactions in
collaboration with HR leadership
HR Generalist Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a
related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role, ideally in a manufacturing or
industrial setting
• Experience working in a unionized environment is required
• Sound knowledge of provincial employment laws and HR best practices
• Strong conflict resolution, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, plant-based environment
• Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce, ADP, etc.)
• CHRP designation or in progress (asset)
