HR Generalist
Description Are you a people-focused professional with a strong background in human resources? Our client, a prominent nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their growing team. This role offers the chance to collaborate across HR functions and contribute to an organization that truly makes a difference. Key Responsibilities: + Act as the first point of contact for employees, providing guidance and support on human resources policies, procedures, and programs. + Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding. + Process and oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal labor laws. + Conduct employee relations investigations and provide recommendations for resolution in line with company policies. + Assist with the development, implementation, and management of organizational structures to align with performance goals. + Monitor and ensure compliance with employment standards and applicable policies, including EEO, FMLA, and other regulations. + Assist in maintaining and updating HR documentation such as employee handbooks, policies, and procedures. + Facilitate training sessions for management and staff to promote employee engagement and the organization’s DEI initiatives. + Identify areas to improve processes, recommend solutions, and ensure the HR department effectively serves employer and employee needs. Requirements + 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector. + Well-rounded knowledge of HR disciplines, including HR compliance, employee relations, and benefits administration. + Familiarity with labor laws such as ADA, FMLA, EEOC, and ACA compliance. + HRCI certification (such as PHR) or SHRM certification (preferred but not required). + Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. + Proficiency in using HRIS systems and tools such as Excel and Outlook to manage employee data. + A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
