HR Generalist
Description We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the VP of HR, contributing to various human resources functions that support the company’s workforce and compliance objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management while maintaining a high level of professionalism and ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities: • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, including scheduling pre-employment screenings and ensuring completion of required paperwork. • Administer and manage employee benefit programs such as health insurance, FSAs, life insurance, and retirement savings plans. • Handle workers’ compensation claims, maintain OSHA logs, and manage the return-to-work process. • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters and assist in resolving workplace concerns. • Coordinate and support performance appraisal processes to ensure employees receive constructive feedback. • Monitor employee leave eligibility and oversee leave management processes, including compliance with FMLA regulations. • Prepare and submit government reports, including annual OSHA and regulatory filings. • Collaborate with the Payroll Department to ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures. • Maintain HR-related intranet pages and publish employee communications to keep staff informed. • Create and analyze HR reports and metrics to support decision-making and strategic planning. Requirements • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role within the construction or contractor industry. • Proficiency in HR software systems such as ADP Workforce Now, ATS, Ceridian, and Dayforce. • Strong knowledge of benefits administration and compliance with federal and state regulations. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and resolve employee relations issues. • Familiarity with FMLA leave management and workers’ compensation processes. • Ability to prepare accurate reports and analyze HR metrics to support organizational goals. • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
