Job Description

In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: work with the Distribution Operations staff and hourly associates to minimize and eliminate human resource issues while helping to manage the needs of the business.  You will work with the business driving employee engagement through effective recruitment, onboarding, training, development and performance management processes.   You will lead and model positive associate relations ensuring the culture and work environment is outstanding.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Improving positive associate relations by assisting in resolving associate concerns/issues proactively and providing excellent customer service to our associates.Resolving conflict by fully investigating and consistently applying our policies and procedures.Facilitating and coordination of focus groups, plant meetings, presentations, and communications for the facility.Making recommendations to policy development, application, and interpretation.Identifying staffing needs and developing action plans to support those needs.Administration/review of hourly appraisal process.Support in interview selection process.Maintain associate files with proper documentation.Coaching and mentoring of our workforce to develop their leadership capabilities.Assist with documentation of leave requests (FMLA, STD, etc.).Provide ongoing support to our associates as needed.Assist with benefit and payroll questions as required.Build strong HR business partner relationship with internal stakeholders, managers, supervisorsAssist in developing / implementing training programs, organizing company functions, and community relations activities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or combination of equivalent experience and education.Minimum of three years’ experience.Sound knowledge of employment law.Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and project management skills.Flexibility to cover time on all shiftsAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsKeen skills working in HRIS systems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an HR Generalist in an industrial settingLabor relations and employment experienceAbility to lead projects; experience working with projects from inception to completionAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesAble to interact with all levels of managementPHR Certification – desired, not required
