HR Expat Coordinator
**Job Overview:** The HR Expat Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all HR, immigration, and expatriate support functions at the Mozambique construction site. This role ensures compliance with local labor and immigration laws, supports expatriate and local staff, and acts as a key liaison between site operations and corporate HR. The position plays a critical role in supporting the Construction Director by ensuring smooth workforce operations and regulatory compliance. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + HR Operations & Site Support + Provide day-to-day HR support to site staff and subcontractors in collaboration with the HR lead. + Advise on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and performance management. + Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and HR documentation for all site personnel. + Conduct audits of HR processes and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations. + Support payroll, benefits, and leave management processes in coordination with the HR team. + Immigration & Expatriate Coordination + Support visa, work permit, and immigration processes for expatriates and international staff, act as a submitter in case the responsible person is on vacation. + Ensure compliance with Mozambican immigration laws and timely renewals of permits and quotas. + Maintain accurate records of expatriate status, visa information, and immigration filings. + Administrative & Strategic Support + Prepare regular reports on HR and immigration metrics for the Construction Director. + Act as a liaison between site operations, corporate HR, and external stakeholders. + Support the Construction Director in workforce planning, compliance, and strategic HR initiatives. + Promote company values and ensure adherence to QHSES and Code of Conduct policies. **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not essential + Minimum 5 years of experience in HR and immigration, preferably in a construction or project-based environment. + A detailed understanding of HR principles and practices + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal + Ability to build good relationships + Capability to apply discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality + Knowledge of Mozambican labor and immigration laws is an advantage + English and Portuguese languages at a good communication level + Experience supporting expatriate staff and managing international mobility. + Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. + Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. \#LI-AL1 Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
