HR Business Partner (Full Time, 40, Day)

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a trusted resource and partner to leaders and provides expert advice and recommended solutions on the full range of talent and labor relations issues, and compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Conducts employee investigations, and communicates outcomes with employees, unions, and leadership. Ensures that management interests are represented, and employee rights are protected. Promotes proactive management practices to reduce grievances, unfair labor practice charges, charges of discrimination and employment-related litigation.
• Partners with the HR Centers of Excellence to support the organization’s mission, change initiatives, and provide leaders with strategic thought-partnership.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Constant: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: walking, standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Health Administration, Communications, Psychology or related field. Four (4) years progressive experience in Human Resources may be substituted for educational requirement.
• Advanced degree and/or professional certifications (i.e., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, Organizational Design and Development certification) preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to educational requirement, minimum four (4) years of progressive professional human resources experience with at least (2) years experience handling talent or labor relations and performance management matters.
• Experience to demonstrate knowledge of employment laws (EEO, ADA, AA, FMLA, etc.) and other regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to quickly develop a rapport, garner trust and respect of business unit leaders. Builds and maintains strong working partnerships and enhances relationships with a collaborative and consultative approach.
• Excellent problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to identify root cause issues, frame issues in context, and designs solutions to align with the highest priorities of the business.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, program design and development, facilitation and presentation skills; customer negotiation/needs assessment skills; problem solving and decision-making skills.
