What is the opportunity?

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will provide strategic advice and counsel to Senior Leaders and their respective leadership teams in Wealth Management (Global Operations, and Strategy, Products and Digital Investing) on all aspects of human resources including talent management, diversity, organizational design, change management, workforce management, leadership, employee development, performance management and rewards and recognition.

What outcomes will you drive?

The following are key outcomes that you will drive in the HRBP role. Although listed separately, they often overlap, and one influences the other. Your role will require you to constantly prioritize, re-prioritize, and integrate these outcomes:

Talent Sourcing, Performance and Development. You will work with the leadership team to acquire and assess talent. You will recommend ways to develop people to better perform their current roles and/or to prepare them for future roles. This will include informal 1:1 dialogues to create development plans as well as managing HR’s performance, development, and succession cycles. This also includes the performance and development of the Leaders themselves, where you will provide feedback, coaching, and formal development recommendations.Advice and Consultation. You will partner effectively with leaders (HR and business) and centre of expertise (COE’s) in HR to provide the best strategic advice and counsel to enable the business to achieve their business priorities, by making the best employee and talent decisions. You will also be conversant with HR Data and its analysis so that you can inform decision-making and recommend actions around important topics such as Diversity and Inclusion, Engagement and all other outcomes listed here.Organization Development and Change. Recognizing that the context within which people work (e.g. the organization structure, reward/compensation systems, leadership, their teams, and culture) all influence their productivity and employee engagement, you will help leaders in Wealth Management (Global Operations, and Strategy, Products and Digital Investing) utilize these levers to help drive a high-performance culture.HR Strategy Execution. In your role, it will be key that you understand HR’s People and Culture strategy and work with your leaders to determine people and organization implications for their teams.

Must-have:

Strong demonstration of RBC’s Leadership ModelUndergraduate degree or diploma5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, including working directly with senior leadersAbility to prioritize high volume, competing priorities for multiple stakeholders balancing advice and counsel with strong execution capabilitiesAbility to understand, assess and respond to complex situations and provide strategic and innovative solutions to drive resultsStrong relationship management capabilities including the ability to impact, influence, and constructively challenge senior leadersSolid aptitude for change management capabilities and leadership effectivenessStrong business acumen, growth mindset, and consultative orientation
