Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commercial ships. Located centrally at Garden Island or at our office on William Street in Woolloomooloo, on Gadigal land, your role will be:
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a key business partner to senior leaders in AWS operations, aligning business goals with HR strategy.
Provide employee advice, line manager support, and guidance on employee agreements, performance management, and generalist HR matters.
Offer expert guidance on policy interpretation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks.
Provide specialized advice on program/project changes while ensuring compliance with Fair Work requirements.
Coach managers and senior leaders to enhance team performance, culture, and continuous improvement.
Manage and resolve employee relations issues (with support from the ER CoE), including performance management, conduct issues, and investigations/formal grievances, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Drive annual HR activities such as remuneration reviews, talent reviews, and performance management, while supporting ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives.
About You:
Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in a similar HR or ER advisory role, ideally supporting both remote and on-site stakeholders.
Skilled in providing generalist advice and support to diverse stakeholder groups in Engineering, Blue Collar, and White Collar sectors.
Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder partnerships.
Well-developed HR generalist knowledge with strong problem-solving capabilities and an analytical approach to achieving outcomes through people.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated capacity to navigate complexity and ambiguity with multiple data sets.
Experience in an industrial environment and/or expertise in interpreting and advising on complex enterprise agreements.
Ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively, with strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach.
Proven influencing skills to drive positive outcomes across all organizational levels.
Ability to obtain Australian Defence Clearances.
