Job Description

Position Overview:

Avery Dennison Yongle Tape is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HR & Admin Manager to build and lead the human resources and administrative functions for our new plant in Malaysia. This role will be pivotal in establishing and maintaining a robust HR and admin framework, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting the growth and development of our team in the region. The HR & Admin Manager will be a strategic partner to the local leadership team and a key shaper of the company culture in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  Human Resources

Strategy - Be the thought and strategic partner to the plant leadership team to develop the HR strategies to support the current and future needs of the business within the site.

Recruitment - Develop and implement recruitment strategies and hire top talents for the plant. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and manage the recruitment process from sourcing to onboarding.

Global mobility - Coordinate global mobility initiatives, including employee relocation assistance, work permits, tax compliance etc.

Employee relations – Actively engage with employees of every function and level to ensure that impactful two-way communication takes place. Exhibit a strong floor presence to the operators. 

HR processes - Manage HR processes including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, individual development planning, compensation, payroll, etc.

Organizational capability – Work with the site business leaders to assess, analyze and understand functional and leadership competency strengths and gaps of individuals and the organization, then work with leaders to address key gaps and play to strengths.

Training and development - Prepare and implement training and development plans according to employees' career development needs and organizational needs, to improve employees' professional skills and comprehensive quality.

Compensation and benefits - Administer employee benefits, compensation and rewards programs.

Compliance - Ensure compliance with local labor regulations and company-wide HR policies and procedures. Partner with legal resources as needed.

  Administration

Coordinate and manage office operations, including facilities maintenance, office supplies, equipment, security and cleanliness etc.

Manage administrative tasks such as document management and record keeping.

Organize and plan corporate events and meetings.

Manage travel arrangements, visitor reception, and corporate communications.

Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

Monitor and analyze budget performance, identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the admin function.

Oversee administrative staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.

Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and administrative roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, regulations, and best practices in HR management.

Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies and policies.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Apps and other function specific software.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Mandarin would be an asset.
