The Navigator Specialist provides essential administrative and customer service support to the Housing Department, ensuring efficient operations and positive client experiences. This position plays a key role in client engagement by managing communications, conducting eligibility screenings, scheduling appointments, and facilitating connections to community resources. The Navigator Specialist supports housing programs across the Galveston, Ft. Bend, and Houston offices.
What you Deliver
Serve as the first point of contact for the Housing Department by answering and directing phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all Housing Department programs, services, and eligibility criteria. Provide accurate information about available community resources to clients and partners.
Conduct client screenings to determine eligibility and ensure that potential clients clearly understand program requirements. Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets to record all screenings and client interactions. Perform client follow-up calls to confirm, reschedule, or update appointments as needed.
Welcome and check in clients for scheduled appointments, ensuring a positive and professional environment. Keep the waiting area and interview rooms clean, organized, and welcoming.
Prepare necessary documentation for appointments, including making copies of essential client records. Enter and maintain accurate client data in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and spreadsheets.
Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Program Director.
