Responsibilities*Supervise employees while maintaining a clean, safe, aseptic environment in assigned areasEnsure that payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner by entering time, monitoring timesheets, and approving time for staffDrive staff productivity to meet target turnaround times and appraise employee efficiencyParticipate in recruitment and staff selection processOnboard new staff membersProvide ongoing training and support to staffAssign work areas and/or project dutiesCollaborate with peers throughout Michigan Medicine to plan and execute projectsAttend and participate in department staff meetings, professional development, and training coursesLead, motivate, and mentor staffParticipate in quality management and patient satisfaction programManage equipment allocation, usage, and condition ensuring that all equipment is always clean and professional in appearanceManage staff utilization to budgetConduct performance evaluations and check-insHandle employee discipline and employee complaints/grievances when necessaryImplement and verify compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and governing bodiesOversee service recovery effortsRequired Qualifications* Leadership experience in a healthcare, janitorial, military, hospitality or other customer service related field or setting Excellent employee relations track record Communication, analytical and problem resolution skills Basic understanding of financial management practices Personal computer utilization skillsDesired Qualifications* 1-5 years of supervisor experience in a hospital or hospitality setting or military Experience with JCAHO audit process Some knowledge of LEAN Value initiatives Hospital Environmental Services quality assurance experience Knowledge of University policies and proceduresWork Schedule

This position is Afternoons/ Tuesday-Saturday / 4:00pm-12:30am
