Overview Housekeeping Manager for Huntley & Shoshone is responsible for managing daily operations, creating housekeepers' daily lists, inspecting rooms and condos and managing the housekeeping workflow. In addition, this position will maintain employee schedules and manage labor hours and piecework. The Housekeeping Manager must be able to perform all duties expected of the housekeeping department including heavy lifting, performing housekeeper and runner duties, deep cleaning and delivery/ordering of supplies. Management and/or supervisory experience in a housekeeping department preferred. Must be able to coach, counsel and direct the housekeeping staff. Candidate must be detail oriented, professional, and maintain a drive for excellence and consistently strong performance. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel required. Previous knowledge of Springer Miller Systems (SMS) is helpful. Successful candidates will meet all of these requirements. Responsibilities Determine daily work assignments for housekeepers and support personnel according to occupancy. Responsible for remaining onsite until all guest arrival rooms are cleaned, entered into SMS, all housekeepers are finished with their daily assignments. Responsible for ensuring that the housekeeping department is functioning through the day and into the evening. Evening responsibilities could include working later shifts to ensure that evening shift personnel are properly trained and being held responsible for their tasks. Responsible for coordinating inspections of rooms and condos and reporting any issues. Responsible for monitoring housekeepers and support personnel performance, progress, and quality of daily assignments. Responsible for tracking housekeeper piecework, and entering values into UKG and SMS daily by 1p to ensure timely payroll processing. Responsible for the knowledge and skills to assist in cleaning when the need arises. Monitors the personal appearance of staff members and enforces the Big Sky Employee Handbook polices and guidelines. Responsible for bringing unresolved employee or guest/owner issues to the General Manager’s attention. Ensures that the work environment is safe for employees. Coordinates with the General Manager and participates in special projects such as, but not limited to, deep cleans, inventories, supplies ordering, and documenting accomplishment within the specified timeframe. Recruiting, hiring, and training of the housekeepers and support personnel. Required to know the fire safety and evacuation procedures and incorporate these procedures into staff training. Responsible for miscellaneous duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned, documenting the progress of those duties. Seasonal interviewing, hiring, training, and processing separations required in a seasonal resort environment. Qualifications Candidate must acknowledge that Big Sky is a seasonal resort, and Manager is expected to schedule most if not all elective vacation time during the hotel closure periods of May and October. Relevant degree and/or experience required. Previous leadership role/management and hospitality experience preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel required. Previous knowledge of Springer Miller Systems (SMS) and UKG is helpful. Ability to learn various systems and programs including Springer Miller Systems, UKG and Alice. Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills and math skills are required. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, sense of urgency, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Must be detail oriented, professional, well organized and able to delegate to a team of up to 40. Candidate must maintain a drive for excellence and consistent strong performance. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at once and adapt to changing situations and environments. Must be physically fit and able to stand/walk/bend for a full shift.
