GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The team at the Veterans' Home of Wyoming cottages (Skilled Nursing Facility) is looking for a caring and motivated individual to assist in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment. This individual must be a flexible team player willing and able to use their skills at the Assisted Living Facility as well. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.
Duties May Include the Following For Housekeeping:
+ Cleans and restocks resident rooms
+ Cleans and disinfects all public areas, including carpets, handrails, doors, windows, trash cans, and light fixtures
+ Cleans bathrooms.
+ Gathers trash.
+ Determines appropriate chemical solutions for cleaning and disinfection.
+ Assists with laundry services, including sorting, drying, and distributing.
+ Assure cottages have a supply of clean linens, cleaning supplies, and trash bags.
+ Assists with scheduled, comprehensive cleaning of dining room area
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to applicants who have a minimum of 6 months of long-term care experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of cleaning methods and practices.
+ Knowledge of cleansers, supplies, and equipment.
+ Knowledge of basic math.
+ Knowledge of state and facility policies and procedures.
+ Knowledge of universal precautions.
+ Knowledge of emergency procedures, cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
+ Knowledge of infection control standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Housekeeping)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Housekeeping)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
NOTES:
+ FLSA: Non-exempt
+ A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
+ For our residents' health and protection, annual influenza vaccination is required, and annual testing for tuberculosis.
+ Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19.
+ Pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions (direct patient care positions are considered safety-sensitive). Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted in any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
