*Description* *Hospitalist (Nocturnist)*** Nuvance Health Medical Practice PC. has an opening for a Hospitalist (Nocturnist) in Rhinebeck, New York. *Job Responsibilities:*** * Assess the patient’s condition by obtaining a complete medical history by obtaining physical data and reviewing the patient’s medical record.** * Order the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures required to evaluate the illness.** * Interpret and integrate data to determine the appropriate diagnosis and therapeutic treatment plan.** * Consult with other physicians and medical specialists in accordance with the Practice’s policies and medical standards to assure patient and physician satisfaction.** * Record all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan, and other information that is appropriate in the patient’s chart and review typed dictation.** * Instruct the patient and family regarding the patient’s diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcome, and future prevention.** * Evaluate the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results, calling the patient and/or requesting a return visit to ensure efficient, effective, timely, and cost-effective medical care.** * Provide medical guidance to and encourage the continued development of the Practice’s physicians’ assistants, nursing staff, medical support staff, and rotating interns as it relates to the medical care of the patient.** * Act as a key member of the medical care team and will participate in making decisions regarding how the Practice will accomplish its mission of medical care.** * Assist in staff development and team building and monitor quality.** * Responsible for supporting the Petitioner’s strategic and operational plans, the Practice’s goals, and any individual goals.** * Ensure the satisfaction of internal and external customers.** * Promote the Practice’s fiscal viability and support the achievement of financial goals.** * Perform organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice’s and the Petitioner’s missions through a process of total quality improvement.** * Fulfill all compliance responsibilities.** * Hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.** ** *Job Requirements:* * Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or its equivalent * Completed a three year residency in Internal or Family medicine * Must be board certified or board eligible in Internal or Family Medicine * Possess a valid NY medical license *About Nuvance Health* Nuvance Health serves 1.5 million residents across New York and Connecticut and includes more than 2,600 aligned physicians, 12,000 employees, seven hospitals (Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, Sharon Hospital, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center), a large network of primary care and specialty practices, and multiple affiliated organizations.For more information about Nuvance Health, visitwww.nuvancehealth.org.Working Conditions: Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Some occupational risk Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
