**Description:**
Come help lead our Pharmacy team at Mercy Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Of New England!
Requires responsibilities at both Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT and Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA ("50/50"). Must have license in both states.
**Position Purpose**
**What you will do**
+ Assist Manager in daily workflow and organization of department in order to ensure efficient operations
+ Supervise non-pharmacist personnel by assigning duties, checking all orders, maintaining efficient workflow, and checking IVs and other medications prepared by technicians
+ Prepare, dispense, and supervise the preparation of all medications and IVs for patient use in the hospital
+ Assess need for non-formulary items ordered according to department policy, and initiate contact with prescribing physician for substitute
+ Verify physicians’ orders for proper dose, regimen, allergies, potential drug-drug interactions/incompatibilities, adverse drug reactions and monitor lab data on all patients before dispensing medication
+ Utilize appropriate communication log to notify physician/nurse of potential problem
+ Verify all narcotic orders are received, maintain perpetual inventory log, perform weekly C-II inventory and monthly controlled drug inventory
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Minimum B.S. degree in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred
+ Hospital experience and/or Residency preferred
+ Connecticut and Massachusetts pharmacist licenses
