Logan Health Hospice is looking for a compassionate and highly organized Lead RN to join their team in Kalispell, MT!

This key position will be primarily in office and play a vital in ensuring seamless transitions to hospice care, while providing support to patients, families, and our hospice interdisciplinary team.

What you'll be doing:

Coordinate incoming hospice patient admissions

Answer incoming phone calls and relay messages to the hospice team

Triage patient needs and assist with nurse scheduling as needed

Obtain, process, and enter orders

Review daily call logs and follow up on patient needs

Facilitate medication refills

Process hospice-related paperwork and perform admission audits

Explain hospice services to patients/families and assess eligibility for care

Order durable medical equipment (DME)

Ensure compliance with paperwork and hospice regulations

Qualifications:

Current Montana RN License or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.

CPR required as applicable to assigned area(s).

Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical experience in assigned area(s) required. Other related experience will also be considered.

Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Other job related Duties:

Performs all RN duties per scope of practice and assigned department procedure and protocol.

Serves as a champion for driving moral, efficiency and cost saving initiatives.

Reviews schedule to verify availability of supplies and equipment for upcoming procedures.

Reviews, edits, and verifies accuracy of service line preference cards.  Facilitates annual review process of preference cards with providers.

Partners with Materials Management staff to ensure par level of soft goods remains consistent, facilitates repair and replacement procedure of service line equipment and instrumentation, communicates provider requests for new soft goods or equipment, and facilitates scheduling of equipment/product trials.

Serves as liaison between assigned staff, service line providers and other stakeholders.

Performs onboarding functions for new providers and assigned staff per department procedure and protocol.

Provides education and in-services for new products/equipment with guidance from the vendor specialty educator.

Lead may be expected to perform one (1) or more of the following tasks regularly:

Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.

Trains or coordinates the training of employees.

Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.

Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for employee questions about expectations and processes.

Assists in interviewing job candidates.

Leads or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.

Other duties as assigned at the discretion of management, excluding issuing corrective actions or administering performance evaluations.

Shift:

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. This position will also participate in Resource On Call rotation. Generally, this on call rotation will be every 6-7 weeks to provide administrative and coordination support to our on call staff.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
