We are currently seeking an Area VP of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership for Silverado Hospice within the Austin area who shares our passion for providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care. This role is responsible for program development, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and team leadership, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with Silverado’s mission and values in the Dallas, Austin, and Houston areas (Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston).

Qualifications:

A proven ability to lead, coach, and manage regional sales teams Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required; Master’s Degree or certificate in Hospice and Palliative Care Management preferred. 2–5 years of experience as a Hospice Administrator or Executive Director required. Proven leadership in supervising professional and administrative teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities and function effectively in high-stress, emotionally complex environments. Strong organizational, delegation, and evaluation skills. Compassionate, empathetic communication style; understanding of hospice and palliative care principles. In-depth knowledge of Medicare and Joint Commission hospice regulations. Business acumen, including budgeting and corporate operations understanding. The willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time This role requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record as a condition of employment. Associates must comply with all state and federal driving regulations Associates in roles requiring driving are responsible for maintaining a valid and active driver’s license. Failure to maintain a valid license may result in reassignment, suspension, or termination in accordance with company policies and applicable laws You may be required to work outside of your regular hours depending on business needs

What you'll be doing: 

Lead overall hospice operations across assigned sites to achieve strategic growth and quality care outcomes. Develop and implement business plans focused on census growth, care excellence, and operational efficiency. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified hospice personnel in compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Supervise regional leaders including Administrators, Directors of Patient Care Services, Business Development, and Support Services. Ensure effective interdisciplinary team (IDT) collaboration and performance. Manage regulatory compliance, including Medicare Hospice Certification and Joint Commission requirements. Maintain and oversee provider service agreements supporting patient care. Monitor and manage regional financial budget adherence, labor utilization, and revenue cycle performance. Provide mentoring and performance oversight to site leadership; serve as Acting Administrator when needed. Collaborate cross-functionally with Home Office teams (Clinical Ops, HR, Compliance, Finance) to align local operations with organizational goals. Model and promote Silverado’s “LOVE > fear” culture, lead succession planning and leadership development. Serve as a key decision-maker for operational escalations and business continuity, including after-hours response as needed. Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) for census, quality, compliance, employee engagement, and financial outcomes. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Anticipated pay range$160,000—$180,000 USD
