Home Mortgage Underwriting Correspondent Specialist
Description As the Home Mortgage Underwriting Correspondent Specialist, you will perform pre purchase or post purchase underwriting reviews on selected conventional and/or FHA loan products, in accordance with the guidelines of the Citizens Correspondent Lending Division including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA. This position will report to the VP of Pre-Purchase. Primary responsibilities include + Perform pre-purchase underwriting risk reviews on designated loans based on specific criteria. + Perform AUS data validation on the selected loans. + Assist the Auditors to resolve any pre-purchase issues, as needed. + Assist the Investor Suspense and Post purchase groups to resolve Loan salability issues. + Assist Underwriting Managers and Team Leads with additional tasks, as needed. Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials + Minimum 3-5 years mortgage experience in Underwriting or equivalent. + Must be familiar with automated underwriting systems including Fannie Mae's Desktop Underwriter and Freddie Mac's Loan Prospector. + Maintain current understanding of all Citizens, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, DU and LPA guidelines and policies. + Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, DU and LPA. + Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Organized with keen attention to detail. + Able to multiple task. + Customer Service Driven. Ability to return all customer calls and emails within 2 hours on the same day as received. + Ability to work outside normal business hours, if needed. Hours & Work Schedule + Hours per Week: 40 + Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (this position is located and hybrid in the Irving, TX Office) Some job boards have started using jobseeker-reported data to estimate salary ranges for roles.
