We are looking for Lead HMI and SCADA Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and skilled team, based in UK. Systems designed by our customer GE Grid Solutions are utilized at electrical substations globally. In this position, you have the opportunity to contribute both as member of SCADA team and project team by preparing specifications and configurations for our products and solutions and integrating communicating systems to our products. As a substation automation focused project engineer, you will be responsible for designing substation communication networks, including SCADA & HMI systems.
Key Individual Accountabilities:
Design, configure and develop HMI & SCADA applications
Plan, Specify, Organize and participate testing
Participate in technical negotiations with end customers and other stakeholders
Support equipment sourcing (technical inputs, equipment evaluation)
Produce high quality documents and specifications
Contribute sales and R&D activities
Participate in FACTS equipment commissioning
Work Experience
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology/ Electrical Engineering
Knowledge in HMI design
SCADA development experience using commercial SCADA packages (ideally Codra Panorama, Copa Data-Zenon).
Demonstrated experience working with industrial network communication protocols such as OPCUA/DA, IEC 61850, DNP3, IEC60870-5-104, Modbus, TCP/IP, Profibus,
Knowledge on HVDC transmission system and different controls involved in the system.
Experienced in validating communication interfaces and its HMI mimics, based on the engineered SCADA configurations.
Knowledge on Electrical power system protection concepts
Extensive experience in Automation software development for industrial control systems
Hands-on experience essential, including various programming languages, frameworks and tools.
Solid knowledge of software tools for designing and documenting systems
Historian Knowledge, Configuring & knowledge of Alarm Management (Historical, SMS, Email, Voice).
Expertise on software tools like IED Scout/Station Scout or DTM, protocol simulator for testing and simulation of HMI application
Report Generation Knowledge (Shift/Batch/Day) with Backend SQL & MS Access.
Demonstrated experience in the development and application of virtual machines in a Microsoft Windows operating environment is an added advantage.
Demonstrated experience in the HMI application development and cyber protection requirements.
Demonstrated experience working in the industrial controls, power generation industry, IEC 61850 standards,
Strong computer skills: experience setting up Windows based applications such as Windows 10 and above proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
