Histotechnician - Per Diem
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** Saint Mary's Hospital, Lab Waterbury, CT PER DIEM You would be responsible for accurately fixes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue for Pathologist interpretation and diagnosis. Provides quality technical and customer service to all customers. **What you will do:** + Assisting the Pathologist in the gross surgical specimen examination. Accurately labeling and embedding surgical and autopsy cases. + Cutting and mounting surgical and autopsy cases. Staining specimens with H & E and special stains as required. + Preparing and staining specimens for immunohistochemical studies. + Receiving and preparing specimens to be sent to a reference laboratory. + Filling all gross specimens, paraffin blocks and slides derived from surgical and autopsy specimens. + Utilizing existing QC/QA program as required by regulatory agencies. Assisting in the inspection by all regulatory agencies. + Entering diagnostic results into the laboratory computer.
