Course: History of Design

This writing intensive course focuses on the history of visual arts, graphic design, and animation; genres of design; and the influence of artists, graphic artists, and animators through the ages. Emphasis is placed on the history of and current developments in the digital and information age. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop. 

What You Will Do:

Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroomAdhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframesRespond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframesProvide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field.

Additional Requirements

3-5 years of professional industry experience.Strong knowledge of advertising theories, design principles, and campaign development.Understanding of Copyright, Trademark, and Intellectual Property, including ethics, laws, consequences, and content evaluation.
