Histology Laboratory Technician

Milan / Treviglio

Hours: Monday to Friday. Occasional Saturday cover when needed.
Location: Based out of our Milan Laboratory to start, role will then move to the new Treviglio laboratory towards the end of the year.
 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Laboratory Technician to join our Antech Italia team. In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory analyses and tests, including preparing samples, operating instruments, and interpreting and releasing results.

Key responsibilities include:

Embed tissue samples with high quality, maintaining a pace of approx. 50 blocks/hour

Perform microtomy with accuracy, cutting approx. 30 routine blocks/hour

Effectively section paraffin-embedded tissue and float on a water bath

Conduct manual stains as needed

Maintain and clean equipment/workstations per SOP

Identify and report technical or quality control issues to lead technician or supervisor

Cross-train in multiple specialties across the lab

Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures, safety, and quality guidelines

Restock supplies and maintain an organised work area

Education and Experience

Degree in a science-related field

Proven histology laboratory experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in general laboratory techniques

Strong science foundation

Comfortable using Office tools, especially Excel

Well-organized and results-oriented

Team player with a strong sense of autonomy and responsibility

Positive and flexible attitude

Forklift license is a plus
