Job Title: Janitor – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Janitor for a full-time position with our client, located in Boothbay, Maine. The janitor will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional laboratory and office environment while supporting facility operations across multiple buildings. Success in this role means taking initiative, working carefully in a sensitive laboratory setting, and contributing to a team-first environment.

As a Janitor, you will be responsible for:

Cleaning restrooms, offices, common areas, and laboratories using established procedures.

Dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors.

Emptying trash and recycling, replacing light bulbs, and refilling restroom supplies.

Setting up and breaking down facilities for meetings, classrooms, and events.

Washing windows, walls, and other surfaces (may use ladders when needed).

Assisting with snow removal, weed whacking, and outdoor upkeep of building entrances.

Safely operating and maintaining cleaning tools, vehicles, and equipment.

Supporting inventory control, clerical tasks, and visitor check-ins at Shimmield Hall.

Attending necessary trainings and team meetings.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate cleaning/mechanical equipment.

Strong attention to detail, initiative, and awareness in a high-value lab environment.

A team-oriented, flexible attitude with the ability to take direction and ask questions when needed.
