SUMMARY:
Maintains the security and integrity of the medical records according to Rochester Regional Health policies and State and Federal regulations. Ensures compliance in accordance to credentialing agencies, State and Federal Governing agencies and Regulatory Bodies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Database Management. Provide and log access to protected patient information as required by HIPPA; retrieve paper and/or electronic medical records upon access verification by HIM Tech Senior team members and/or HIM leadership; retrieve and track all discharged records to ensure 100% of records are received into the HIM departmentDocumentation. Initiate and verify all components of the medical record are imaged and released to the electronic medical records (EMR) or other system; scan and index documents with clarity and legibility (ensure quality) into the legal electronic medical recordsGeneral Maintenance. Perform a variety of clerical duties including: data entry, faxing, copying, mailing, phone calls, etc.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree preferred.Minimum 2 years related work experience in a healthcare setting or customer service setting preferred.Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding documentation requirements preferredFor ILS employment and other areas of elderly care: 1 year experience working with the senior population is preferredEDUCATION:
