 HIH – Capacity and Performance Associate Advisor

– Performance Engineering

Position Summary:

The performance engineering team provides enterprise-wide performance evaluation and tuning recommendations to measure non-functional requirements for applications and infrastructure components. The performance engineer must have knowledge of performance testing tools such as Neoload, Loadrunner or Jmeter and Monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk.  The performance engineer should have extensive experience measuring application response times, error rates, throughput, and resiliency behaviors. Also, the performance engineer should understand Middleware technologies, especially Java application server technologies. In addition, the engineer should have direct experience partnering with product vendors, applications teams, and support teams to resolve issues and achieve organizational goals.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Work with developers to define non-functional requirementsWork with data team to ensure the volume and integrity of the data will meet testing requirementsCreate and modify performance test scriptsTest, measure, interpret application non-functional requirementsMonitor the application and infrastructure during testInterpret infrastructure key performance indicatorsDiagnose application errors and slow performanceUtilize DevOps tooling to automate testingDevelop reports summarizing the results of testingParticipate on calls or chat during load testing and go / no-go recommendationsEngage various infrastructure and application teams to receive sign-offLead Proof of Concepts (POCs) including working with application teams, consultant firms, and product vendorsProvide knowledge transfer to team membersPartner with application development and production support leadersEngage in capacity planning discussions, forecasts, solutionsWe require a resource in the HIH second shift covering part of east cost onshore hours

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred or equivalent work experience.

Experience Required:

8 to 11 years of experience working in an environment supporting enterprise applications 

Experience Desired:

Experience with product vendor relationshipsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and relationship skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsDemonstrated Teamwork behaviorsExperience utilizing DevOps tools.Experience managing large and complex end to end performance tests
