Who You Are:

Oasis IAM is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician I to perform maintenance support for local roadways and highways. Join our team and grow with us as we provide best in-class services that help clients solve their most complex challenges!

What You’ll Do:

Performs landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, tree trimming, and pruningCleans and grades ditches, stormwater drainage structures, highway road shoulders, slopesPerforms general maintenance duties such as fence repair, sign repair and replacement, and litter and debris removalRepairs and replaces guardrail components and attenuatorsPerforms concrete structural repair to sidewalks and bridges or overpassesFills and patches asphalt pavement potholes and distressesPerforms Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) / temporary traffic controlProvides after-hours emergency incident response during scheduled on-call rotationConducts pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsPerforms preventative maintenance on company vehicles or equipmentMakes minor low-voltage lighting and electrical repairsOperates a variety of mechanical equipment such as bed edgers, commercial mowers (z-turns and bush hogs), tractors, mini-excavators, skid steers, gators, blowers, dump trailers, chain saws, line trimmers, forklifts, and moreDrives company trucks, towing trailers and rolling arrow boards if necessaryLogs maintenance work-order information and checklists manually and electronicallyLoads and unloads equipment, supplies, tools, and materialUses all equipment safelyPerforms other duties as required

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications

18+ years of ageMust be able to effectively communicate with managers and coworkers in EnglishMust possess and maintain an active and valid Florida driver's license without restrictionsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularlyAbility to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of timePossess good oral and written communication skillsWillingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtimeAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsAbility to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speedObtain MOT certificate (coursework and certification paid for by the company)Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenComply with company drug and alcohol policyMust be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date

Preferred Qualifications

1+ year of experience working in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or landscapingExperience operating heavy equipmentMOT CertifiedAgricultural Pesticide Applicator’s LicenseAbility to drive manual transmissionCDL A or B

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite in Palatka, FL.

Compensation 

Expected Salary: $16.00/hr

Shift and Hours:

· 40-hour work week.
· Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
· One on-call week every 4-5 weeks on a rotation, requiring overnight hours as necessary in addition to the standard schedule/hours (a company vehicle is provided during this time).
· Overtime may be needed situationally.
