Herbicides Principal Biologist – Profile Summary
Recognized as the local Integrated Field Sciences (IFS) expert for a specific crop, pest complex, concept, or country. Represents IFS on Local Product Concept Teams (LPCTs) and applies in-depth local technical and regulatory knowledge to develop, customize, and execute field plans and protocols. Ensures alignment with zonal and global strategies by partnering with the Regional Field Biology Leader (RFBL).
Accountable for the design, interpretation, presentation, documentation, and archiving of research to address key biological questions. Serves as the interface between the Local Product Concept Team and the IFS organization, ensuring comprehensive answers to biological questions and effective transfer of technical information. Supports the development of biology documents for regulatory submissions, including the creation of regulatory BioDossiers at the country or zonal level. Proactively identifies and communicates local competitor activities.
Key Interactions:
Extensive collaboration with Field Scientists, Regional and Global Biology Leaders, Program Management Signature Process cross-functional teams (including Stewardship), Local Product Concept Teams (Marketing, Commercial and Regulatory) , Global Biology Leaders with technology characterization responsibilities, Biological Characterization Scientists, IFS Regional Leaders, IFS Commercial Unit Leaders, IFS Statisticians, Zonal Biology Leaders (ZBLs), Technical Education Leaders, and other Team Leaders. Strong networking and cross-functional teamwork are essential in this role.
Core Skills:
Advanced applied scientific skills and weed management in key crops.Proven experience in herbicide development and in-depth knowledge of the herbicide market in Argentina, primarily for major row crops such as soybean, corn, and winter cerealsExcellent written and oral communication skills (English)Customer focus, creativity, innovation, and leadershipStrong technical knowledge and experience leading projects & leading by influence.In-depth understanding of local competitor product offerings, current and emerging markets, and regulatory requirementsProficient in using StatMart or other analytical tools to summarize product concept characterization research trial dataRequirements:
Degree in Agronomy (Ingeniero Agrónomo).Master’s or PhD degree is highly desirableAvailability to travel as required by the positionPreferred geographic location: northern Buenos Aires province, central-southern Entre Ríos or Santa Fe, Córdoba.
