Job Summary:

This position is responsible for non-skilled heavy general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Duties:

Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing is required in this area.

Heavy lifting up to 70lbs or more.

Driving forklifts bobcats, scissor lifts, and shovels.

Usage of lock out tag out and fall arrest may be required.

Operators are required to work on their equipment and troubleshoot issues that may arise.

Must be able to work in a hot and cold environment, working with steam and hot grease or outside in the winter.

These areas have slippery walking surfaces.

Must be able to work with chemicals.

Will be required to wear all standard Tyson issued PPE, in addition to specific PPE required for rendering jobs.   

Some jobs assigned may require climbing stairs/ladders.

Operative jobs require a higher skill level.

Requirements:

These positions are high skilled jobs, that require previous knife skills, minimum 6-month production experience in a meat processing facility.

The Rendering Department runs 6 days a week.

Applicants must be willing and able to work ANY shift assigned.

Must be willing and able to work in the following work environments: Hot and Humid.

Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Operators are required to work on their equipment and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
