Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for Planned Component Replacement (PCR) Management, developing & strengthening the team, Life Cycle Costing (LCC), Asset Management Strategy, OEM and Contractor relationship management.

 Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Lead the maintenance strategy and execution for the Ultra Class HME fleet ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability, and safety. Manage and continuously improve PCR programs ensuring timely component replacements, accurate forecasting, execution discipline, and quality assurance. Build and develop a high-performing maintenance planning and reliability engineering team, focusing on work management, backlog control, and failure analysis. Drive effective Life Cycle Costing (LCC) strategies and contribute to long-term asset planning, including rebuilds, mid-life programs, and capital replacement scheduling. Collaborate closely with OEMs and service contractors to ensure technical support, warranty compliance, and performance accountability. Ensure strict Contractor and service provider oversight during major maintenance projects and component change-outs. Monitor and report on key performance indicators including MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, and maintenance cost per hour. Manage spares and inventory coordination in partnership with Supply Chain to ensure optimal stock levels and lead time management. Enforce compliance with OEM standards, statutory requirements, and company safety and environmental policies. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis (RCA), defect elimination, and maintenance system optimization. Provide strong leadership to supervisors, engineers, and foster a high-performance safety-first culture.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mining Engineering or relevant technical qualification with extensive industry experience. Minimum 10 years of experience in mobile equipment maintenance within a large-scale open-pit mining operation. At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing Ultra Class equipment. Demonstrated success in PCR management, major overhaul planning, and component lifecycle optimization. Strong background in Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and data-driven asset performance management. Knowledge of Ultra Class OEM equipment such as Komatsu 930E trucks, PC8000–PC4000 shovels, and large drills. Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams across planning, reliability, and maintenance execution. Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills with OEMs and contractors. Proficient in the use of CMMS/ERP systems (SAP) Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
