Perform routine maintenance, including scheduling and carrying out maintenance plans Fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic and fuel hoses as needed Troubleshoot and make proactive repairs on all port equipment, repair and maintain LPG and diesel motorized equipment Assist and/or lead engine, transmission and hydraulic overhaul projects Can perform duties without supervision and adapt to priority updates Proficiently operate all equipment to perform maintenance Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance performed Test and inspect completed work to assure proper performance and timely completion Demonstrate knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the surroundings Comply with all safety regulations and adhere to company safety policies and procedures Perform duties during inclement weather. (Outdoors, heat and cold) Periodically perform duties safely 200’ above ground level Follow all safety protocols and regulations Comply with all safety regulations and adhere to company safety policies and procedures Occasionally work in areas outside of your normal duties, when instructed by a supervisorRequirements to be successful in this position:
High school graduate or equivalent Multiple years of Equipment Mechanic experience (hydraulic, ignition, air brakes, gas and diesel engines) Experience working with forklifts or in a related field, or completion of a heavy equipment mechanic training program Hand tools up to 1 1/8” wrenches, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, pliers, etc. Florida Class E Driver License or equivalate Transportation Worker Identification Credential Physical ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and see into small areas Communication skills: Ability to communicate well with others Tools: Familiarity with tools and equipment used to repair forklifts Computer skills: Ability to use a computer Reading skills: Ability to read repair manuals Analytical skills: Ability to analyze problems and solve them Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals Proficiency in the use of basic hand tools and precision measuring instruments
