Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic
Job Description

The Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic will operate under the general supervision of the Service & Assembly Shop Foreman in the Hydralift Shop. As a skilled tradesman, you will provide quality customer service while maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy equipment, mobile cranes, and vehicles. You will also promote and adhere to workplace safety standards. The role primarily involves working on heavy equipment such as electrical systems, pumps, and hydraulic systems on cranes and booms. Experience with mobile equipment is essential.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair heavy equipment, pumps, valves, and hydraulics.Assemble hydraulic cranes according to engineered drawings and specifications.Install hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, and cylinders.Perform mechanical fitting of crane structures, booms, and outriggers.Mount and align cranes onto truck chassis.Test all crane functions post-installation for safety and performance.Interpret work orders and technical manuals.Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on equipment.Perform repair work on heavy trucks if necessary.Adhere to safety and red seal standards.Essential SkillsExperience with troubleshooting heavy equipment, pumps, valves, and hydraulics.Ability to assemble hydraulic cranes and install hydraulic components.Proficiency in mechanical fitting of crane structures, booms, and outriggers.Capability to mount and align cranes onto truck chassis.Skill in interpreting work orders and technical manuals.Experience with testing equipment for performance and regulation compliance.Ability to perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAdherence to strict safety standards and procedures.Positive attitude and willingness to comply with all safety guidelines.Red Seal certification is an asset.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with options for 4x10 shifts from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.10 - $44.10/hr.
