Downer is seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, or Fitters to join our team across Pinkenba, Swanbank, and Brisbane, QLD. This hybrid role offers a mix of workshop and field-based responsibilities, maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery and trucks across multiple sites. No two days are the same—ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy plant machinery and trucksProvide breakdown support and fault diagnostics in the fieldEnsure all work meets Downer’s safety and operational standardsCollaborate with a skilled team while also working independently

What You’ll Bring

Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential)Strong hydraulic knowledge and fault-finding skillsExperience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipmentAuto electrical experience (highly regarded)HR and Forklift licences (desirable)A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
