Job Summary / Purpose
The Health Support Tech provides various support to both clinical and non-clinical teams. This position is designed to provide non-clinical assistance to our teams. Tasks may vary by facility and could include distribution of supplies, general clerical support and facilitating screening stations. The position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI Health.
Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for screening employees, patients, and guests before gaining admittance to our facilitiesContribute to a culture of safety by providing assistance to coworkers in use of personal protective equipmentDistributes medical supplies and equipment to patient care areas. Restocks supplies and rotates inventoryUnder the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, participates in providing a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient who is confused, impulsive, unable to perform teach back, unable to understand, or at risk for self-harm or injuryDocuments per policy in the healthcare recordFacilitates effective communication by fielding incoming calls, accepting and communicating with visitors, and relaying pertinent information to appropriate staffResponds appropriately in emergency situations as support for clinical staffActively participates in ongoing education to take and pass the CNA state exam to transition to a CAN roleProvides general office and clerical supportOther duties as assigned by managementQualifications
BLS within 30 days of employment start dateCNA course completion with certification within 6 months of hireOverview
