We are looking to expand our exciting team with someone who can solve technical problems on medical networks, assist commercial teams with the sales process, and present in front of technical and non-technical leaders.  The AVS Digital Architect is responsible for driving connectivity for ALCON AVS (Alcon Vision Suite) products as well as legacy Alcon Medical Devices.  The AVS Digital Architect will also perform integrations with our customers and their EHR vendors. Integrations will involve general networking (TCP/IP), DICOM, HL7, FHIR, and all related networking.  The AVS Digital Architect will also assist as needed to support any connectivity concerns (questions & troubleshooting) for all network capable medical equipment. The AVS Digital Architect may be asked to lead/support projects that assist in further transforming Alcon into a digital company.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Ensure AVS installs are connected in a timely mannerDrive connectivity on all Alcon hardware and software product linesTrack time of installation of Alcon AVS products customersOwn regional integration processDefine data flow map for customer integrationsEnsure all project installation phases are completed in a timely manner by supporting all installation process phases  Follow processes related to proper documentation after each taskRespond to monitoring alerts indicating offline devicesOccasionally teach DICOM & networking classesPerform STP Testing (testing product prior to hand over to customer)Complete Alcon assigned training on timeMaintain professional communications when interacting with internal and external customersEngage other Alcon teams as needed to address customer issues.Be available to collaborate with other teams as they request helpOwn issues through the process until a handoff is confirmedProactively identify process improvements related to local and global tasksCreate presentations for customers and/or Alcon leadershipBackfill other roles on the team as neededProactively remain current on industry trendsExemplify a customer focused attitudeAct with urgency when a medical device is downBe results oriented Perform duties ethicallyObtain CCNA certification within 1 year of hire dateStrict requirements to laws, regulations, and company policies

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

3+ years of experience in Healthcare or Medical industry2+ years experience with DICOM and/or HL7Fluency in local language as well as English (global meetings are conducted in English)Excellent verbal, written, and communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent troubleshooting skillsAble to explain difficult concepts to a wide audience including senior leadership, non-technical customers, and tech savvy customersExperience in troubleshooting networks and general IT issuesSome level of travel (up to 25%) to attend regional leadership meetings, customer visits, attend conferences, etcAbility to lift network equipment weighing up to 14 kg (not frequently)Ability to work remote as neededProficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Powerpoint, and OutlookScheduling flexibility including occasional after hours or weekends as neededAbility to manage all aspects of customer service, customer satisfaction, and contractual commitmentsExperience configuring multiple firewall platforms, routers and VPN AppliancesNegotiation skills are critical
