About Our Home: Lansdowne Care Home is a warm and welcoming purpose-built nursing home offering a spacious and comfortable environment and 24-hour care and support for older adults. This is a Bank Position (Zero Contract) for Day and Night The post holder will be responsible for the Care of residents and to work in a team environment to ensure good practices exist. They will deliver physical, psychological and social care to the frail elderly residents of the home and meet the needs and supporting the smooth running of the routines within the home. Other responsibilities will include assisting with medication distribution; acting as a team member, answering enquiries from visitors and professional bodies associated with the care of the residents, and ensuring that any enquiries or tasks beyond knowledge or capability are passed on to the Senior in charge of the shift. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Assisting with personal care duties including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety. + Delivering a high level of personal and psychological care to all residents in a professional manner, administering care requirements to residents i.e. Medications; toileting; bathing; etc. + Complete records were required to a satisfactory standard. Keyworker and Care Plan documentation are fully completed within the timeframes agreed. + Support co-workers and senior staff on duty, acting as team worker at all times for the benefit of the residents and staff. + Act as an ambassador for the Home in all dealings with visitors and the general public. + Ensure the individual rights of residents and staff are safeguarded in accordance with the home's philosophy of care by being aware of the working practices and activities being actioned. + Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting / assisting Clients, when required, with all aspects of daily living. + Assist Clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Clients retain their comfort and dignity. + Pay particular attention to assisting Clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties making the best use of aids provided. + Assist in the delivery of care for Clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. + Carry out regular checks on Clients at intervals determined by senior Staff Members. + Make and change beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty. Ensure the Home's resources are used appropriately. + Clean and maintain equipment used by Clients / Relatives e.g., wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc. Ensure the Home is kept clean and tidy, in line with the Company's attention to detail philosophy. + If applicable, care for Clients' clothing and rooms as named, and ensure that all clothing is recorded and clearly marked. + Ensure full privacy and dignity is maintained for the dying and the bereaved, in line with the Company's policies and procedures. + Assist Clients who need help during mealtimes (be aware of swallowing difficulties, dietary requirements etc.). Assist with serving of food / drinks as requested / required. + To undertake any additional training and development programmes the Home may consider it appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home. Tasks and responsibilities within your area of capability may vary occasionally depending upon the needs of the business.
