To learn more about Extension, visit:https://extension.colostate.edu/ Position Summary Facilitators of Health Without Barriers ( HWB ) will lead one of the five curriculums that make up the Health Without Barriers ( HWB ) program. These include parent, teen/mindfulness (Learning to Breathe), physical activity, nutrition/Cooking Matters and preschool. While facilitators will have one curriculum to lead they may be expected to cross-train and become proficient in additional curricula over time to enhance their facilitation skills and versatility. Health Without Barriers is a 6-week family-inclusive health program offered multiple times a year in various Colorado counties. Facilitator responsibilities include: + Lead designated program section for each multidisciplinary night . + Team collaboration. + Ensure program operational efficiency. + Assist with participant and Community Advisory Board ( CAB ) member recruitment and retention. + Build relationships with program participants. + Travel to communities where HWB is offered. Mileage will be paid for travel outside of the county seat. Required Job Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Primary instructors for physical activity need advanced training in physical activity instruction. Examples include, but are not limited to, certification as a personal trainer, fitness or yoga instructor or a degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, physical education, etc. + Ability to facilitate discussion in a group setting. + Interest in promoting health. + Enjoys working with adults and youth of all ages. + Builds trust with program participants. + Familiarity with the community (county) in which the program is offered. + Basic nutrition and physical activity knowledge. + Ability to assist with set-up which may include lifting items weighing up to 20 pounds. + Willingness to travel within the county to facilitate programs provided at different locations. + Demonstrates patience while working with younger children. Preferred Job Qualifications + Experience in promoting community programs or similar events. + Experience working with groups or individuals of all ages. + Basic experience or training related to the content of primary role (examples include goal-setting, mindfulness/psychology, early childhood education, nutrition/cooking, or coaching). + Associate degree or higher. + Experience with culturally diverse groups. + Demonstrated ability to be culturally responsive. + Bilingual in English and Spanish. + Experience as a role-mode, mentor, leader or coach working with youth or adults.
