As a HUC in the Emergency Department (ED), you serve as the 'air traffic controller,' performing various administrative and clerical tasks to support the organization, cohesion, cooperation and flow of the caregiving team. All the while, you can thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, allowing you to develop critical skills you can use throughout your career. **A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM - 7:30AM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
