Health Unit Coordinator - Float Pool

As a Health Unit Coordinator in the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments, and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. Using your administrative and clerical skills, you will ensure the efficient operational flow, allowing your fellow caregivers to continue providing optimal medical support. This position provides opportunities for growth, including tuition reimbursement, resources to learn and grow, a fulfilling career and comprehensive benefits that invest in your health, your physical and mental well-being and your future. **A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. with weekend availability.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information. + Coordinate and send out pages to physicians, especially during emergencies like traumas and strokes + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED + One year of experience in a customer service-related role + Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + College degree + Microsoft Office experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
