The J6-3 Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit provides care to post-open heart surgery patients and telemetry patients who have undergone innovative and cardiac procedures, such as valve replacement/repair, aneurysm repair, Maze, radiofrequency ablation, pulmonary vein isolation, pacemaker and defibrillator implant/removal and robotic assisted surgery. This unit is the closest unit to an ICU without being an ICU. **A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm - 7:30am.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED + 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role + Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + College degree + Microsoft Office experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
