The G52/G53/G54 Surgical Intensive Care Units (SICU) specialize in the perioperative management of acute post-operative complications. As a Health Unit Coordinator on this unit, you will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to patients, families, visitors and other caregivers to promote and support positive patient experiences. You will also perform administrative and clerical duties to ensure efficient operational flow in their assigned department. This position provides opportunities for growth, including tuition reimbursement, resources to learn and grow, a fulfilling career and comprehensive benefits that invest in your health, your physical and mental well-being, and your future. **A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information. + Coordinate and send out pages to physicians, especially during emergencies like traumas and strokes + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
