The Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Hillcrest Hospital is dedicated to delivering the highest quality, family-centered care to ill neonate and extremely low birth weight infants. This team provides 24-hour neonatology services, evidence-based nursing practice and advanced respiratory care, such as high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide. As Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) on this team, you will offer unparalleled customer service to patients, families and visitors to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience, no matter where you serve. Using your administrative and clerical skills, you will ensure the efficient operational flow, allowing your fellow caregivers to continue providing optimal medical support. **A caregiver in this position works rotating part-time shifts on Monday and Friday from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. + Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. + Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. + Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. + Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. + Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
