Under general supervision, the Health Specialist II plays a key role in promoting employee health and safety by responding to workplace injuries and illnesses, administering first aid, and supporting wellness and prevention programs. This position also assists with on-site screenings, health data collection, and safety-related training.
Shift: 2nd Shift
What You’ll Do
Provide initial response and first aid for occupational injuries and illnesses, including emergency care and referrals as needed.Support on-site health services such as annual physicals, flu vaccines, and safety training initiatives.Conduct or assist with health screenings, including vision tests, EKGs, venipuncture, audiometry, spirometry, and other assessments.Document incidents and maintain accurate, confidential health records in compliance with applicable regulations.Refer employees to appropriate medical professionals for further evaluation when necessary.Collect employee health and work history information and assist with follow-up communications.Contribute to wellness and safety programs aimed at preventing illness, injury, and absenteeism.Maintain required certifications and stay up to date on first aid and emergency response practices. QualificationsWhat You’ll Need
High school diploma or GED required; additional healthcare or emergency response training.Current LPN license or certified first responder/EMT preferred.At least 2 years of experience in occupational health, safety, emergency response, or a related field.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly.Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workplace safety protocols, and basic medical procedures.Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.Ability to lift, move, or carry up to 25 lbs.May require working occasional extended or irregular hours for emergencies or company events.Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
