The Health Specialist drives health program development and implementation for Amazon Japan while ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role manages day-to-day health operations and serves as the subject matter expert for health-related matters.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive health program development and implementation for Amazon Japan, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- The main programs under this position's responsibility are Medical Checks, Occupational Health Physician (OHP) Interview for Workers with Overtime, Stress Check and OHP Services.
- Execute Health Officer duties per Japanese law, including workplace inspections, Health Committee meeting participation, and health-related information provision.
- Manage health-related service vendors (Medical Checks, Occupational Health Physician Services), evaluating and improving their services.
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.
- Participate in audits, generate reports, and provide recommendations.
- Serve as first point of contact for escalations from team, ensuring issue resolution.
- Identify potential escalations and work with team manager to resolve them.
- Develop contingency plans for unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide daily support and act as liaison for associates within the global team's department.
- Distribute updates and metrics to appropriate stakeholders (MBR, WBR, HRBP, Legal, Compliance).
- Verify data, perform data entry, and identify discrepancies for correction.
- Serve as primary contact for team, customer, and stakeholder queries and escalations.
- Create and maintain documentation for the program and specific situations.
