The Coordinator, Health Services Contract Compliance supports health services contract compliance of the facility’s medical program based on Facility Support Center (FSC) goals, objectives and philosophy in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations and standards of patient care. Provides support to the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Regional Director of Health Services, Health Services Policy & Compliance Team, Health Services Surge Team and others in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying and administering the Contract Compliance program to evaluate and improve the quality of patient care. Evaluates the timeliness of the provided service in meeting contractual requirements, adherence to policy and accreditation standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.
1. Assists in the departmental training and compliance review of nonclinical duties described in Core Civic policy and/or partner contracts / requirements. Nonclinical duties may include, but are not limited to, the management of health care records (paper and electronic), scheduling appointments, generating reports in designated electronic applications (e.g., Allscripts, OMSe, JDE, CTM Lightning, etc.), inventory management of health care supplies and protecting personal health care information.
2. Provides training, auditing, reporting, trending analysis and corrective action assistance related to nonclinical Health Services duties in Core Civic facilities and/or with FSC Health Services personnel. Evaluates performance through observation and/or file review and documents findings for elevation to the appropriate chain of command.
3. Coordinates the data management of several Health Services processes related to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Mortality & Morbidity, surveys, vendor requests for information and/or other special projects assigned by Health services leadership. Data management includes, but is not limited to, collecting information, summarizing results, monitoring responses and maintaining organized and current files as well as managing and creating reporting matrix of compliance reports for FSC Health Services.
4. Ensures newly hired FSC Health Services employees are scheduled for on-boarding and obtains access to all items needed to perform their assigned job duties. This includes ordering electronic equipment through the IT Helpdesk, as well as clerical tasks such as setting up travel accounts, reviewing expense reporting procedures, scheduling introductory meetings with Health Services Leadership and initiating the request for electronic health records needed to perform assigned duties.
5. Communicates duties, authorities and responsibilities to staff in accordance with federal, state or local standards, Core Civic policies, accreditations and/or other applicable partner related requirements so that they are clearly defined and understood.
6. Creates educational and informative materials for new hires, employee training sessions, departmental communications, Health Services reports and any other project assigned by Health Service leadership
7. Monitors the provision of contractual services for appropriateness and maximum efficiency. Maintains a positive working relationship with facility and FSC staff, health care staff, contract providers and outside agencies. Assists in motivating and encouraging staff to perform their duties consistent with policy and procedures.
8. Assists in the effective use of facility/department resources. Assists in conducting physical inventories and with development of Periodic Automatic Replacement (PAR) levels.
9. Domestic U.S. travel is required.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
· Three years healthcare/health services experience required.
· One year of experience in correctional healthcare is required.
· One year of experience in healthcare compliance, use of electronic medical record (EMR is preferred.
· Completion of training/education in either a health service-related field, i.e., nursing or health services administration is preferred. If a licensed nurse, must possess current licensure in the state of employment and/or possess multi-state licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or other similar software applications is required.
