Health Information Supervisor
**Job Description:** The Health Information Supervisor leads corporate Health Information Management projects and initiatives, manages human resources, assures compliance with regulatory and best practice standards, supports alignment of workflows to policy including documentation of standard work, and applies creative problem solving, sound fiscal management, and continuous quality improvement. The supervisor is responsible for the management and exchange of electronic health information in compliance with regulatory standards and the integrity of the electronic health record (EHR). Functions may include, but are not limited to release of information, MyChart patient portal, CareEverywhere, EpicCare Link, Shared Records (Community Partners), Health Information Exchanges, legacy systems, identity management, chart correction, editing, abstraction and entry of discrete data in the EHR, management of birth and death registries, and chart analysis and completion. This position works under minimal supervision.*Candidates must have the ability to easily travel to our on-site locations in Duluth and Esko MN. **Education Qualifications:** Key Responsibilities: + Acts as a liaison to operational and physician leaders to support identity management, health information documentation best practices, and policy and regulatory requirements through efficient workflows design and technology + Leads high performing, engaged, agile team demonstrated by quality and productivity metrics and other defined measures + Identifies and implements system-wide process improvement opportunities, develops creative solutions using available and emerging technology, and implements new workflows + Manages human resource related activities of team in a timely, respectful, consistent, and supportive manner in compliance with requirements, including contracted employee agreements Key Skills: + Effective written and verbal communications and people skills + Makes effective decisions about work task prioritization + Organized, independent, self-starter + Planning and decision making + Ability to lead teams and initiatives + Resourceful, subject matter expert + Analytical, adept with management and reporting tools Educational Requirement: + Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field Required Qualifications: + 3 years experience Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with leadership, project management, preferably in healthcare + Experience with electronic health records and compliance with regulations **Licensure/Certification Qualifications:** RHIA or RHIT preferred Employee Benefits at Essentia Health: At Essentia Health, we’re committed to supporting your well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
